Non GMO Supplement Claims: What They Check and What They Leave Out
A non GMO supplement is one whose maker says its ingredients were not genetically engineered. The claim speaks to how ingredients were made, not to safety, strength or results. The Reviralis sales page uses the phrase and the label front does not, and we found no document that shows the standard behind it.

The claim01
What does a non GMO supplement claim mean?
It says the ingredients did not come from genetically engineered sources. That is a statement about origin.
It is a different question from whether a product is safe, strong or useful. A plant extract can come from a non-engineered crop and still affect blood pressure or the liver. Natural origin and safety are not linked, which our post on natural and safe explains.
Q: Who checks the claim? A: It depends on the seller. A claim can rest on a supplier letter, on an outside program or on nothing a buyer can see. We found no source that sets one rule for all supplements.
The gaps02
What does a non GMO claim not tell you?
It does not tell you how much of any ingredient is in a capsule, or whether the capsule does anything.
| Question a buyer may ask | Does non-GMO answer it? |
|---|---|
| Where did the ingredients come from? | In part: not from engineered sources, if the claim is true |
| How much of each ingredient is inside? | No |
| Is it safe with my medicines? | No |
| Does it treat or prevent a condition? | No |
| Was the finished bottle tested? | No |
The claim also says nothing on vitamins and minerals made in a lab, which have no crop of origin.

Does Reviralis make a non GMO claim?
The sales page does. The label front does not.
The sales page says "Non-GMO, stimulant-free, and 100% natural" (Reviralis sales page). The label front shows "Wholebody Wellness", "Premium Botanical Formula" and "Made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients". None of those lines is a non-GMO statement.
The label lists 22 vitamin and mineral lines and 18 blend names, 40 in all. Several of them, such as vanadyl sulfate, boron citrate and magnesium, are compounds and not crops. We have no certificate or program name for the non-GMO line, so we quote it as an ad claim and do not repeat it as fact. Check the supplement facts page for the printed lines.

What should you ask a seller who prints non-GMO?
Ask for the document behind the line, then ask what it covers.
Who verified it?
A supplier note, a program seal or a lab report are different levels of proof.
Which ingredients?
Ask whether it covers every plant ingredient or only some.
Which lot?
A claim should match the lot in your hand. Our post on checking a lot number shows how.
Treat a missing answer as information. The order desk contacts are on the contact page.
Keep it in proportion05
Should non-GMO change how you judge a supplement?
It is a small part of the picture. Weigh amounts, cautions and your medicines first.
The label's warning applies whatever the origin: ask a clinician before use if you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, have seizures or take prescription medicine. Herpes has no cure, and prescription antivirals are the proven care (CDC, About Genital Herpes). Reviralis is not an antiviral, and no source we found shows that it prevents or reduces outbreaks. Keep any prescribed medicine.
Non-GMO describes origin. It does not describe dose, safety or results.
FAQ06
Reviralis questions people ask
Is non-GMO the same as organic?
No. Non-GMO speaks only to genetic engineering. Organic is a separate claim about how crops are grown. A supplement can carry one, both or neither, so read each claim and ask for its source.
Does non-GMO mean a supplement is safe?
No. Origin does not decide safety. Plant extracts such as licorice, green tea and cinnamon have documented cautions whatever crop they came from. Safety depends on the ingredient, the amount and your own medicines.
Can vitamins and minerals be non-GMO?
Only the ones that come from plants or other living sources can. A mineral compound made in a lab has no crop behind it. A seller who covers every line should say how that applies to the whole panel.
Is the Reviralis label non-GMO certified?
We found no certification on the label front or in our sources. The sales page uses the phrase as an ad line. If it matters to you, ask the order desk for the supporting document before you buy.
Why do sellers print a non-GMO line?
Buyers often look for it, so it works as a selling point. That does not make it false. It means the line should come with a document you can check, like any other claim.
